How is hammer Stroke Calculated for an open-ended diesel hammer?

The stroke calculation is based off the Saximeter Equation. The equation defines stroke as: 

stroke = 1/2∗g∗(T/2)^2  − 0.1meter   

Where g represents the gravitational constant and TT represents the time between impacts.
