How does the SQUID™ determine debris thickness?
The SQUID™ determines debris thickness by force and displacement measurements. Based on pre-defined boundaries (user adjustable), debris thickness is calculated by sorting material that will displace with concrete placement at a lower threshold and placing values that represent soil strength at an upper threshold. The SQUID™‘s default values are based on Terzaghi’s bearing capacity equation for clay.
