How often does the PIR wireless transmitter’s battery need replaced (used with the wireless rotation and wireless depth units)?
While collecting data, the PIR wireless transmitter’s battery needs changed daily. Moreover, PDI recommends that a technician replaces the battery during the installation of the day’s first pile. Ideally, the replacement will take place as the site crew drills down the auger and the gear box reaches its lowest point.
Pause the system to change the battery to prevent loosing data. Start charging the battery as soon as it is removed from the system. This will help ensure that it is ready for use the following day.
Every system comes with two batteries. Additional batteries are available for purchase. If there seems to be an issue with a battery, contact PDI immediately to learn more about replacement battery options.
