What is a Refined Wave Equation (GRLWEAP) Analysis?


A refined GRLWEAP analysis uses the stresses, energy, capacity, dampings and quakes from a Pile Driving Analyzer® test and CAPWAP® analysis performed on a test pile. The process consists of matching these known quantities by adjusting hammer parameters, cushion parameters and soil parameters on the wave equation program (GRLWEAP). These results can then be used to estimate blow counts and stresses at other hammer energies, required capacities or cushion configurations. A paper describing the process can be downloaded from here.
