How does Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP™) determine concrete cover?

Engineers use the total volume of concrete to determine a temperature to radius correlation. The local radius is in direct ratio with the average temperature of the shaft. Likewise, the shaft’s average temperature is in direct proportion to the local temperature’s average. Accordingly, subtract the nominal cage radius from the local radius to yield the effective local concrete cover.
