WORKSHOP: Non-Destructive Testing for Deep Foundations (Salerno, Italy)
February 6, 2026 - Salerno, Italy
This free workshop, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering (DICIV) at the University of Salerno in collaboration with Pile Dynamics Inc., DRC Srl, Istemi, and CODIS, will focus on advanced non-destructive testing methods for deep foundations.
The event will take place at Aula 102 CAD – Building E1, Fisciano Campus, Via Giovanni Paolo II, 132, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The program begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by introductory greetings at 9:00 a.m. Sessions will run until 1:30 p.m., concluding with discussion and closing remarks.
The workshop is divided into three parts:
- Part 1: Key non-destructive methods for diagnosing deep foundations, including thermal integrity profiling, crosshole sonic logging, and low-strain integrity testing.
- Part 2: Design optimization through dynamic load testing on bored and driven piles, with interpretation examples and correlation with static tests.
- Part 3: Innovative SHAPE® and SQUID™ technologies for assessing bored piles before casting, reducing defects and ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
