Can Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP™) detect a cold joint?

If caused by a significant delay in casting, cold joints are identified as clear and distinct discontinuities in the TIP™ measurements. In other words, the shaft’s lower portion will be considerably cooler than its upper portion. This alone is not indicative of an unsatisfactory shaft. Rather, it signifies the location of different concrete maturations.
