Yes, the PDA-8G can dynamically test ductile cast iron piles. Typically, a drilling operator will use a hydraulic excavator with a rapid-stroke hydraulic hammer driving system to install ductile cast iron piles. Alternatively, PDI recommends using a drop weight hammer. The hammer’s drop weight should correspond to 1.5% to 2% of the pile’s ultimate load.
