Q

Can I use iCAP® as a starting point for a traditional CAPWAP® analysis?

A

To some extent. The iCAP® soil model is saved with averaged force and velocity currently in a file.cww format. The results of this iCAP analysis can be sent to an output screen for printing and saving in CAPWAP 2006 format (file with extension cww). The cww file can be read by CAPWAP (versions 2006 or 2014) for further analysis, with some limitations (e.g. the displacement versus time cannot be adjusted, so engineer should be very careful to properly adjust the data prior to iCAP). It is of course better to use the normal CAPWAP procedure (input the real PDA-W or PDA-S file, and perhaps using the information from iCAP manually input as a starting solution).
