Candidate should have a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering, although strong Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering candidates are welcome to apply and will be considered. |
| Responsibilities |

Candidate would be a Field Civil Engineer undertaking dynamic testing of piles on construction sites (both driven piles and drilled shafts) for deep foundations, monitoring hammer/driving system performance, pile driving stress, pile structural integrity, and pile ultimate static bearing capacity analysis using CAPWAP® and wave equation analysis. Testing locations could be in the USA as well as in other countries, including offshore. |

Candidate would also undertake low strain dynamic and crosshole sonic logging pile integrity testing of concrete piles, drilled shafts, augered cast-in-place piles and similar. |

Candidate would undertake analysis of collected data and prepare reports for clients in a timely and accurate manner. |
| Equipment/Technology |

GRL will train and equip the candidate in the use of all of its testing systems and software, including the Pile Driving Analyzer® (PDA), Pile Integrity Tester (PIT), the Cross Hole Analyzer (CHA), CAPWAP and GRLWEAP. |
| Level of Supervision |

Candidate will be responsible to a Senior Engineer or higher on a daily basis in performance of his duties and will work in a team environment in which self-motivation and a good work ethic are promoted. Field engineers are required to be well organized and able of managing their travel schedules and work deadlines without constant oversight. |
| Work Schedule |

Nominal work schedule is eight working hours per day, five days a week. However, as GRL provides a service that must be responsive to the immediate needs of the client, the work schedule can sometimes stretch into the weekends or into extra hours. |

Field engineers spend approximately 50-60% of their time traveling away from the office including overseas. |

Staff engineers are tracked to develop into senior engineers with a view to taking on more responsibility for their own client base or branch office. If the engineer proves successful and committed to GRL and the field of deep foundation testing, partnership in the firm may be extended. |

This is a salaried position with a competitive salary and a generous bonus. |
